MÖVE – Options towards Reduction of the Quantities of Purchased Food in Canteens by Keeping High Quality of Supply

Project goal

The objective of the project MÖVE addresses the optimisation of food ordering at the Hietzing Hospital (KHR) towards reducing the swill amounts. This is to be achieved by raising the awareness of a sensible food management towards optimal resource utilisation within communal feeding. For this, options are surveyed of reducing the amount of purchased food without affecting the quality of supply or the established quality standards. In addition, a sensible food handling will result in reducing the amounts of swill.

AWK EKZ - Operational waste management concept for the shopping center Oberwart

Project goal

The goal is to create a waste management concept for the shopping center Oberwart.

Waste and energy concept for Seehotel Werzer Wallerwirt GmbH

Project goal

The project goal is the creation of a waste- and an energyconcept for Seehotel Werzer Wallerwirt GmbH to obtain the Austrian Eco-Label for tourism enterprises.

FORWAST

Project goal

The Project goal is to provide an inventory of the historically cumulated physical stock of materials in EU-27 (EU-25 plus Romania and Bulgaria), and to forecast the expected amounts of waste generated, per resource category, in the next 25 years. Further, to provide an assessment of the life-cycle-wide environmental impacts from different scenarios towards waste prevention, recycling and environmentally-friendly waste treatment in the EU-27.

Nabaupool Kärnten - Regional Partner Pool towards the Implementation of “Sustainable Construction” in Carinthia

Project goal

The goal is to build a bridge between applied research and the small and medium-sized enterprises. Latest research results are made available to the members of the pool and the exchange of ideas is enabled. Thereby the potential of specific knowledge exchange on the new topic „sustainable construction” is established.

 

 

VEMED II – Enhancement of the Base for an Efficient Phasing-out of PVC-containing Medical Articles

Project goal

The goal is to support the hospitals of the KAV in the efficient phase-out of PVC-containing medical articles. This way, the basis for a phase-out of PVC-containing medical article will be enhanced and the hospitals will be supported in their efforts for the phase out.

Filing support for the obtainment of the AUB Environmental Declaration

EPD-Hera_BM_EPV

Project goal

We support the company Heraklith GmbH in obtaining the AUB Environmental Declaration (EPD) and the Austrian Eco Label for the magenesite-bound wood wool lightweight boards Heraklith based on current research (Life Cycle Assessment, declaration sheets of the Institute for Building Biology and Ecology IBO).

 

Energy Performance Certification 2006/2007

Project goal

We optimize buildings (new buildings as well as renovation projects) regarding heating and building technology. In times of rising energy prices saving energy has become an increasingly important topic in the housing situation. Thus, the Energy Performance Certification, which provides information about all the relevant thermical properties of a building, is indispensable. This certification is the technical certificate of a building and the basis for all subsidies concerning new buildings and renovation projects. The Energy Performance Certification results from the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

FCKW Review – Review of the state-of–the-art of knowledge in disposal of the CFC stock

FCKW Review.

Project goal

Goal of the project is the evaluation of the developed research results. For that purpose experts are invited to discuss the sustainable recovery and disposal of substances of an ozone depletion potential, still in use.
